At bumbaumel, we believe that:

• the choices we make at home have a wide reaching impact on the world around us.  Choosing organic, fairly traded products is a way to promote global environmental and social values everywhere.
• we can make a difference in developing countries by investing in environmentally and socially visionary projects.  

Manufacturing

all of our products are made in factories in India where:

• all employees are paid at least 10% over the general pay scale,
• working days are 8 hours long, with a lunch break and several chai breaks,
• a high percentage of employees are physically challenged or disabled,
• and medical services are provided for all employees

The working conditions in these factories are certified to the EU working standard SA 8000. The TÜV SÜD, an international controlling agency based in Germany, is responsible for the certification.
